Gary Nicholsen 1945 – 2024
It is with the heaviest of hearts to inform you that our beloved Gary W. Nicholsen passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born April 15,1945 in Catskill, NY to Arnold and Mae Nicholsen. Gary loved his hometown of Greenville, NY and was a part of many organizations throughout his life to bring about change and improvement in the county. Perhaps his greatest love was interacting with people and being the ultimate host at Sunny Hill Resort. He brought smiles and lasting memories to generations of families who were never far from his thoughts as his “Sunny Hill Family”. Gary always loved a good joke, a fast car, his Norwegian heritage, his west coast family, a loyal four legged companion, ice cream, his friends that were family and the USA.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29th from 12 noon until 4 p.m. in GarWayne Hall (dining room) at Sunny Hill Resort, 352 Sunny Hill Road, Greenville. At 1 p.m. there will be a FUNeral with musical tributes and words of remembrance. Please wear your Sunny Hill gear, drive your fastest car, and come prepared with a dirty joke!
To honor Gary’s belief in giving back to the local community, please make a donation at the National Bank of Coxsackie for the Greenville Food Pantry. (518) 966-5388
